Pastor Call Weekend

We welcome our pastoral candidate, and his family, to Farmville Baptist THIS weekend, October 15-17, 2021. Immediately following Worship today, we will hold a special called meeting to hear the recommendation from the Pastor Search Committee and vote on extending a call. This meeting does require a minimum quorum of 40 members, and those worshiping via Zoom will be counted.

Operation Christmas Child

We are so excited to see how many shoeboxes we can fill to bless the children with! We are still collecting monetary donations to use towards purchasing the last few items to fill the shoeboxes, and cover shipping costs. Plan to join us following worship on Sunday, November 7th in the Fellowship Hall as we stuff and prepare the shoeboxes.

All Saint’s Sunday

We will celebrate All Saints Sunday on October 31st. During the worship service on October 31st, all members and friends of Farmville Baptist who have lost close family since November 3, 2019 are encouraged share a picture with name and birth and death dates. Please either send a digital or scanned photo and information to the church office by Wednesday, October 27th, or bring the information and picture of those loved ones to the office.

Thanksgiving Baskets

As mentioned in this month’s newsletter, the Mission & Outreach Committee will be filling and distributing Thanksgiving Baskets this year to those in need. The Committee will be collecting names for the Prince Edward County Social Services office, as well as taking information from church members who have someone in need. Collection baskets will be set around the church entrances for the following items – canned vegetables, candied yams, gravy, box stuffing, cranberry sauce, frozen pies, frozen rolls, and frozen turkeys. Any monetary donations to this outreach may be placed in the offertory plates, or mailed to the church office.
