Community Partners

We also partner with these organizations to serve others in our community. We hope that you’ll consider participating in their mission also!

Meals of Wheels

SCOPE Meals on Wheels provide approximately ninety plus meals per day to local residents. It takes at least ten drivers each day to make the deliveries. Currently there is a need for drivers. If you can help please call Hoke Currie at 434-392-8797 or operations (at) scopemow.farmville.net. This is a great mission opportunity!

Habitat for Humanity

The Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, volunteer Christian ministry that partners with qualified families, volunteers, and donors to provide housing for needy families in the Farmville Area.

Presently, Habitat for Humanity is looking for groups to provide lunch for their construction crews working on the Buckingham House. They can also use volunteers to answer phones, enter data and plan events. Contact Pam Gill at 392-6627 or pam (at) farmvillehabitat.org.

F.A.C.E.S. (Farmville Area Community’s Emergency Services)

The mission of Farmville Area Communities Emergency Services is to gather and distribute food to neighbors in need in hopes of creating a hunger-free community. FACES is currently ranked third in central Virginia (behind Richmond and Henrico Co.) in the amount of food distributed. They need both donations and volunteers to help fulfill their mission.

Volunteers can help EVERY FRIDAY, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., to unload truck shipments and
EVERY SATURDAY, 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., to help distribute food to clients. Contact Dr. Geoffrey Orth (orthgc (at) longwood.edu) if you are interested in volunteering.
