PASTOR’S COLUMN
“The Gift of Love”
As another Christmas comes around the corner, my heart is filled with love for Farmville Baptist Church. What a blessing it is to minister with you as your pastor! Thank you for the generous Christmas love offering that you presented to me at the Christmas dinner. But most of all, thank you for the love you’ve shown me and my family over these past six years. Thank you for your gift of love!
I came across the following from an email and thought I’d share it with you:
It’s sharing your gifts, not purchasing gifts;
It’s not wrapping presents, it’s being present
and wrapping your arms around the ones you love;
It’s not getting Christmas cards out on time,
It’s sending any card, anytime, at the right time;
It’s not having the biggest and best Christmas light display,
It’s displaying the Christ light that comes from your heart;
It’s not Santa coming down the chimney,
It’s Jesus coming down from heaven,
and giving us the gift of love.
May the love of Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be yours during this Christmas season!

THANK YOU
Thank you so much for the opportunity to come and share about our ministry with you. It was a blessing to be among you! Thank you so much for your support and love. We hope to continue this ministry relationship as we all learn what it means to “pray with our feet.”
Blessings and peace, Jon and Tanya Parks
Thank you for continuing to remember me in your prayers. My health is improving—against long odds—so I am told. The power of the Lord is overwhelming, and your prayers mean a lot.
Thank you, Ted Daves
I just want to THANK YOU and your church family for their prayers, cards and thoughts of speedy recovery during my recent skin cancer problem and nose reconstruction. I am doing good. It is so comforting to know others care and proves the power of God’s Love.
God Bless, Tom Young
Thank you so much for the generous Christmas gift. The past five years have been very rewarding and I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve as your Office Manager. Thank you again.
Thank you, Kathy Dunnavant
The family of M. T. “Tommy” Tomlinson, III acknowledges with grateful appreciation your kind expression of sympathy.
Ruth Patteson & Family
I wanted to thank all of your for lifting me up in your hearts. It means so much to me. I’m in complete remission and receiving treatment to prevent a relapse. I know I will be healed completely all the prayers are working. I am sailing through and I can feel God’s Love. So, thank you and God Bless.
Love, Carrie Latta
Almost one year ago I was diagnosed with ALS also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. I worked for the Virginia Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. Chuck Daniel of Evergreen Seed was one of my clients. Obviously, Chuck notified your congregation of my illness and I have received numerous prayer cards from your church. I wanted your congregation to know that each and every one of the prayer cards was deeply appreciated by both me and my wife, Judith. At this time there is no cure or treatment for my illness, but knowing that there are people praying for me has helped me deal with my condition. It has been a difficult journey for me, but I know that the power of prayer will make a difference and make it a less difficult journey for me.
Thanks again for your prayers and support, Mike Anderson
