Young Adults

We have a “Young Adults” group consisting of folks in their twenties and early thirties. In addition to Sunday School, they are involved in the choirs and get together periodically for games and service projects.

Bible Study

This September Dr. Michael Cheuk will begin a sermon series titled “Reasons to Believe”. This series will discuss how it is reasonable to believe in God. To compliment this series there will be a number of small Bible study groups that will meet to discuss the sermon topic each week. The Young adults will have the opportunity to form a small group.

Throughout the year the young adults will also have other opportunities to form new Bible study groups. Currently several young adults are involved in a women’s Bible study utilizing the curriculum “Espresso with Esther” this group will be open to join for only one more week.

Fellowship

Beginning in October the Young Adults will have monthly fellowship opportunities. These opportunities will vary from dinner at one another’s house, dinner out, bowling, ice skating, video game tournaments, and other various trips. If you are a young adult and are interested in fellowshipping with other young adults please contact Amanda with any ideas you might have for a fellowship opportunity. Keep your eyes on the calendar for these upcoming events!

Multi-Generational Events & Missions

Also beginning this fall the young adults will have the opportunity to participate in some church wide multi-generational mission projects and fellowship opportunities. Church wide missions will include assisting with construction and feeding the construction crews for the local Habitat for Humanity house that is currently being built. The church will also be going to FACES our local food bank on scheduled Saturdays to help pass out food. These are just a few of the missions opportunities that will be available for all age groups within Farmville Baptist Church’s congregation. Again keep your eyes on the calendar for these upcoming events.

In Their Own Words . . .

Jeannine Milne

“From the first day I emailed Pastor Cheuk, I knew Farmville Baptist was going to be my new home. I’ll never forget my first day attending worship at Farmvllle Baptist. I walked in and was unsure of which way I was suppose to go. It only took seconds before I was greeted with a smile by members of the Church willing to walk with me in the right direction. I recently realized that walking me in the right direction went way beyond walking me to the classroom where the young adults met for Sunday school. Since attending Farmville Baptist, I feel that my whole church family has stayed by my side while I grew and learned to really walk in the right direction. They were with me during the good and the bad, always lending a helping hand and lots of encouragment. I never felt alone or like I had nobody to talk to; rather, I felt surrounded by love and support. Recently, my whole church family was involved in one of the most meaningful events of my life. I was baptized at Farmville Baptist and would not have wanted to be baptized anywhere else. I do not think it would have been so special without all of these people I love so much there at church to witness it. In summary, Farmville Baptist has become more then just a church to me. They are my grandparents, mothers, fathers and siblings, they are my family!”
