Our “adopt-a-student” ministry is fun outreach program designed to give college students local Christian support while they are living in Farmville.  University students are “adopted” by members of the congregation with the understanding that the “adoptive families” are there for the students as a “home-away-from-home.”  Students are free to have as much or as little interaction with their adoptive families–it is up to the students to decide what is most helpful for them.

In the past, adoptive families have gotten together with their students for various activities such as taking them out to lunch or having them over for a home cooked meal, sending cards on special occasions, calling in to check on them, offering a ride if their car is in the shop, offering a place to stay to “cool off” from roommate problems, etc.

For more information, please contact Patsy Watson at 392-8563 or by email at gnpwatson [at] gmail [dot] com.  Hear Patsy’s description of the Adopt-a-Student program.

If you are a church member who would like to sign up to adopt a student, please download and fill out this form and email it to Patsy.

If you are a student and would like to be adopted, please download and fill out this questionnaire and email it to Patsy.

Members of our College Committee will take the information from the forms and match students with the “adoptive parents.”
